If all this resonates with you, you might want to book yourself a flight to Japan as they just produced their very first ninja studies graduate. How cool is that?!
Genichi Mitsuhashi graduated with a master’s course from Mie University after two years.
“I read that ninjas worked as farmers in the morning and trained in martial arts in the afternoon,” he said.
Mitsuhashi decided to follow in the footsteps of his peers, tending to crops by day and working on his martial arts techniques by night.
“With this combination, I thought I could learn about the real ninja,” Mitsuhashi explained.
A professor of Japanese history at Mie University, Yuji Yamada, expressed that he was pleasantly surprised to see Mitsuhashi’s devotion.
“We provide historical classes and courses on ninja skills. But I didn’t expect him to engage to this extent like a real living ninja,” Yamada said.
According to Yamada, the university receives three applicants annually, proving that there is in fact demand for relatively unconventional course.
