There are many habits you guys think are okay to do to your hair on a daily basis, but they’re NOT!!
Drying your hair with hot temperatures, tying a tight ponytail, using the wrong brush, do these habits seem familiar to you? If these habits are one of your hair routines, you need to stop because you’re damaging your own hair! Yes, you can have hair extensions to add volume to your hair and make it look healthy, but it’s still recommended to take care of your hair any way you can.
Bad hair habits can prevent you from achieving your hair goals and also create damage to it, which would eventually slow down your hair growth and the healthiness would decrease too. There are certain things we do to our hair which we think are normal because we do them daily, but in reality, they’re really not.
So, if you find yourself doing any of these bad habits to your own hair, you might want to stop now.
1. Tying your hair up in a tight ponytail
Yes, tying your hair up in a tight ponytail is cool cause’ you’ll feel like Ariana Grande. However, it’s not a good thing you should do to your hair on a daily basis as it causes stress on your hair which causes breakage and ugly split ends. We would suggest you tie your hair a bit looser so that your hair can breathe.
2. Using Too Much Heat on Your Hair
Straightening or curling your hair daily is not a good idea as you’re applying heat that would damage your hair that causes hair burnout. Not only that, hair dryers cause even more damage in the long run. When blow-drying your hair while it’s wet, it is weaker and easier to break. It is recommended to use heat protectant spray before you use any heat product.
3. Using too much chemical on your hair
Yes, dyeing your hair can sometimes be addictive, but it’s best to not do it so often guys. Especially when it comes to bleaching, you can’t do it often or else your hair would be damaged and feel like grass. Bleaching or dyeing your hair would result in dry hair and slow down the hair growth. Make sure you’re going to a professional hair saloon when it comes to applying chemicals onto your hair.
4. Brushing your hair when it’s wet
When your hair is wet, the strands tend to be the most fragile. Try not to play rough when you’re brushing your wet hair as it is more susceptible to breakage. Maybe try to use a wide-tooth comb and work on your hair from the ends to up.
5. Using too much conditioner isn’t good
Using too much conditioner or not washing it off properly can weigh the down your hair and make it look limp and greasy. Hence, it’s important to rinse your hair twice. It’s best to condition your ends only as your roots produces natural oil.
6. Not going for a hair trim because you want to grow them out
You might believe that the length of our hair is more important than the health, but the truth is, the health of your hair should be your priority. This is the biggest bad habit you guys should stop doing. Trimming your ends would prevent split and dried ends. Without trimming your hair, your hair would start to look damaged and dry. Many of us don’t believe that cutting our hair would fasten the process of hair growth, but that’s the truth! Trimming your hair every three months would be the best.
