Just admit that, okay? We all have that one toxic person (or more lol) that surrounds us and we can’t get rid of him/her no matter what.
It seems to be too rude to cut him/her off, but it can be really annoying and demotivating as taking these negative vibes from them is really stressful particularly when the story has nothing to do with us.

How to deal with a toxic person?
We know that cutting off from a relationship is not something easy and it is quite rude to do so but that doesn’t mean that you should still keep them around. Instead, you should have some plans to distant yourself from them and it is easy. Here’s how:

1. Set boundaries
Set limits, set times and set your perspective. Toxic people often love to spin on the things that you’ve told them and to avoid that, you should set the topic light and give more facts than telling your personal opinions. If the conversation is going deeper and deeper, set a time and move on to the other stuff than just staying in the conversation.
2. Don’t get drawn in
Switch your focus, don’t dwell. They love to play with your feelings and put themself as the victim. Thus, you should be able to recognise the tricks behind and fight back when it’s necessary, but again, give facts, not accusations. You should speak up for yourself when things get serious. You should also avoid taking it personally because you can actually ignore what people talk about you.

3. Put your foot down, say ‘it’s okay’.
Toxic people love to ‘pollute’ people around them with negativity just to leave you in a down mood. But, what you should really do is to defend yourself and demonstrate that you’re not that easy to belittled or insulted. Just tell them, ‘it’s okay, we have different perspectives!’
4. Tell them their behaviour
It’s totally fine to feedback to them that you don’t feel comfortable throughout the communication because there’s a possibility that they might do not know how toxic they are and your warning could make them understand that this is something not tolerable and unacceptable. At this time, you can also try to be a little more compassionate to understand why did they behave in such a way, but, don’t be sentimental. Be neutral, replace your ‘I’ with ‘we’ so that it sounds less accusatory.
5. Put yourself FIRST, always
If you have no choice but to live or work with someone that is extremely toxic, it’s fine. Make sure you make time and space for yourself to live in a peaceful way than just settling dramas and conflicts. Train yourself to be emotionally stable so that you won’t easily get affected by these -ve vibes. Remember that you’re not at fault. But if you have a choice to, simple, just move on and cut them off.
