Recently, Christchurch, New Zealand was hit by a horrendous terrorist attack which claimed the lives of 50 victims and further wounded another 50 victims. 34 out of the 50 wounded victims still remain in Christchurch Hospital while 12 of them remain in the Intensive Care Unit.
Of these victims, 3 of which were Malaysian.
The Malaysian victims include Mohd Tarmizi Shuib, 42 , Rahimi Ahmad, 39 , Mohd Nazril Hisham Omar, 46.
But by the grace of God, there has been positive development since the incident. With all three Malaysian victims in stable condition and showing positive signs of recovery, according to a Penang assemblyman who is currently in New Zealand.
Rahimi Ahmad, 39, can now give feedback using his fingers by moving them and no longer depended on the breathing apparatus to help with breathing, after relying on it since being admitted to the hospital.
Bayan Lepas assemblyman, Azrul Mahathir Aziz, also visited the other victims, Mohd Tarmizi Shuib, 46, and Mohd Nazril Hisham Omar, 46.
“Mohd Tarmizi and Mohd Nazril Hisham are also recovering…We just don’t know how long they will remain in the hospital,” said Bayan Lepas assemblyman Azrul Mahathir Aziz.
We wish and pray for nothing but their speedy recovery and the discovery of Mohd Tarmizi, Haziq, 17, to be found as he still remains yet to be found since the incident.
Meanwhile, Prime Minster Jacinda Arden has condemned as an act of terrorism and has stated that she will not mention the name of the terrorist when she speaks.
“He is a terrorist, he is a criminal, he is an extremist. But he will, when I speak, be nameless.”
New Zealand has been placed on the Highest Threat level.
On behalf of Sevenpie, we send our prayers and condolences to the people affected by this unfortunate incident.
