To most of us, weekend is the time for us to take a break from the hustling buzzing city and the endless demands from work. It’s also a time for us to free our minds and reconnect to Mother Nature. Thankfully, Malaysia is blessed with great landscapes. Here are some of the best spots that you can go for a hike this weekend:

Templer Park is located in Rawang, Selangor. This is a beautiful place if you want to hike or have fun by the waterfalls. The air is clean and the scenery of the park is amazing. You can find yourself relax and it’s relatively an easy trail for those who are bringing a child along for a hike. There’s a natural Jacuzzi at the final tier and it’s highly recommended to give it a try.

It’s a good hiking spot for you if you are hikers or love outdoor activities. Parking spots are easily available here as well. Bukit Gasing is located in between KL and PJ, and it’s not hard to locate the hills. However, do note that that 7am is the peak hiking hour here which can be unpleasant to some so do plan out your time accordingly if you wish to come here.

FRIM is a good hideout in KL if you would like to have a getaway. At FRIM, you can expect nothing but fresh air and luscious greenery. I think this is a best spot if you want to release some stress or work pressure during your daily life. You can also picnic here if you wish to have a different experience but please make sure you clean up after yourself and keep the place as clean as possible.

Some people prefer to bond with their family through outdoor activities such as hiking and in this case, Gunung Datuk is one of the best places to reconnect with Mother Nature and with your family members. It has a really nice and stunning view that one will never regret to witness. Do ensure to wear the right pair of hiking shoes as this can be quite a challenge as you really need to put in some work to climb to the top. Also, don’t forgot to pack a few sandwiches or two because the stunning view is best accompanied with some good snacks to refuel your body for the journey back down.
