Working can be stressful at times if you are working under intense pressure with tight schedule to follow. Many people tend to keep this to themselves and in long term, this would cause a lot of psychological problems to you and your health. To avoid this, we have specially crafted 5 simple tips so that you can vent out your pressure while keeping your head straight.
1. Take a deep, DEEP breath
If you find yourself heaving sharp breaths, or having a slight chest pain, that’s the signal for you to take things slow. As cliché as it seems, a few meditative minutes of deep breathing will help you stay calm and re-boot the mind for extra clarity.
It’s fairly simple – inhale for five seconds, breathe out for five seconds, and repeat the cycle.
2. Pace yourself
From early morning client meetings to replying an important email, the timely urgency of these events are what’s quickening your heartbeat by the minute. In these cases, multi-tasking will only worsen the situation that may inevitably make you more prone to mistakes.
Focus on the task at hand and do that diligently. Complete the current task and THEN move on to the next step. You’ll find it much easier to manage the seemingly heavy workload – for a more satisfying outcome, perhaps listing down your to-do tasks and ticking them off one by one will provide you with some much needed gratification.
3. ‘No’ is (sometimes) the magic word
Sometimes, you just have to stop being a yes man (or woman) and learn to say no if you find yourself being overwhelmed. The key to rejecting requests is be polite yet firm on your stance. Explain to your subordinates (or your boss, if the situation calls for it) on your current situation and justify that you’d prefer to maintain the quality of work you’re currently implementing.
Repeat to self – quality over quantity.
4. You are what you eat
Now this is going to sound like your typical PendidikanJasmani class but the habit of eating right does affect the outcome of your daily lifestyle. Why opt to feel lethargic at all times (especially when you constantly snack on junk food), when you can give a jumpstart to sluggish mornings by including superfood into your diet?
If you’re confused as to which diets to follow, a low-sugar high-protein intake has been proven to increase stamina over time minus the lethargic after-effects of snacking on sugary treats.
5. Showing some much-needed TLC to your body
A minimum of 7 hours sleep, no less. That’s all it takes for your body to function on a daily basis, without any mid-day slump. A critical recovery period for the body, withholding hours on sleep for days may have an adverse effect in terms of stamina and overall appearances.
After all, concealers can only do so much in covering those unsightly dark circles.
