Oh hey, we’re inching towards the end of January, but it’s still not too late for a new hair style. Whether or not you’re the type to swear by the phrase, “New Year, New Me”, there’s no better way to start the year by resetting your look with a new hairdo. Besides, every day is a good day to experiment with a whole new world of hairstyles and hair products (which one will you use today? cream or gel?)
You may want to have this mink brazilian straight hair which is healthy virgin hair, that has not been processed at all. This brazilian hair has a lot of natural body to it. All of these trendy looks are based on the latest Fashion Week runway shows, some of our favorite famous female faces and top hair stylists. From old school plaits to baby bangs to being a blonde ambition and many more!
So if you need a new year hair inspiration, I got your back, ladies. Here are 6 hairdos and trends you need to keep on your radar.
1. Scrunchies
Bet ya’ll thought the scrunchie trend is long dead in the 90s and even more so when Carrie Bradshaw calls wearing a scrunchie a “crucial mistake” in one of the episodes of Sex and the City back in 2003. The trend seems to be revived from the dead when the polarizing hair relic was spotted on models during Mansur Gavriel’s fashion show. Call it ugly or tacky, however you want, but to deny scrunchies their place in this revival would be absolutely wrong. It’s safe to say that the hair accessory is back to reclaim its place for good.
2. Baby Bangs
The best thing about bangs is that there are various lengths and styles to choose from. Baby bangs are cute and trendy at the moment as it is an edgy but also gives you a super soft look. If you want something bold, this look is the one for you since it stays out from your eyes and doesn’t make your forehead look too weird while giving your face a cool frame. So, if you’re feeling gutsy then do give this look a try!
3. Bobs with Fringes
Who doesn’t love a bob hair cut? Whether it is short, long, layered or textured, there are different bobs for every face shape and hair type. This is the year to be brave and embrace a short haircut. You also just gotta add a cool looking set of light fringes to go with your bob and you’re ready to rock the streets with your new hair that will definitely turn heads. Avoid having a blunt block fringe to match with a bob as it can feel heavy. Celebrity hairstylist, Jen Atkin recommends fringe on the longer side just below the eyebrows just so that one can tuck it away behind their ears if they don’t like it anymore.
4. Long and Sleek
The sleek hairstyle won’t be disappearing anytime soon. Many celebrities have been seen with this look as well as models strutting the runway with super long and sleek hair. To work this look, your hair has to be and look healthy for starters. Hair serums and oils shall be your next bestie if you want your hair to not look like dry wheat. You also need a flat iron to achieve that straight look but before that, a heat protector is required before ironing to prevent damage from the heat. If you want to achieve a super long sleek hair, you can wait for your hair to grow out, if not you can opt for extensions! It helps give that shiny and smooth appearance.
5. Braids
Medieval times are back people because did anyone get that GOT vibe when looking at these braids? As you can see braids of all kinds have made a comeback on the runway. So if you’ve long forgotten to weave a simple plait or your favorite ones, then you’ll need to sharpen that rusty skill of yours! With the existence of YouTube, there are many braid tutorials at the ready for you to watch and start weaving your hair. It also depends on what type of look you’re looking for. For a more girly look, you want to make sure that the braids are tidy and symmetrical whereas if you’re going for a more sophisticated look, the braids have to be loosen up and slightly messy. To finish off, you can add a glitzy accessory of your liking at the nape!
6. Fasten your hair
If the thought of getting a haircut or dying it doesn’t appeal you, worry not as there are easier and better way for you to spice up your current hair style. You can bet on your hair accessories to do the talking. It is also perfect for the low maintenance girls that wants a simple and neat look. A simple up do with a ribbon has a major impact as it adds drama to the hair. To keep your hair in check, you can either use gold barrettes on both sides of your hair to create a regal vibe or get creative with colored bobby pins! Also, you can be edgy by adding some embellishments on your side braids.
