All smiles and laughter is the perfect definition for Ramesh Vadiveloo, the person behind Frontera Sol of Mexico and Guac Food Truck. He didn’t just stop there; Ramesh took it one step further and connected restaurants as meal providers to the poor.
We caught up with this inspiring man for a chat as he tells us how he does it!

From Frontera Sol of Mexico to Guac to Meals For All, how did the idea for Meals for All came about? Were you always interested in charity work?
It was a combination of several incidences where I saw homeless guy scavenging rubbish bins for food and the realisation that with my resources (people that know) and ideas that I have, I can and should help the poor. I choose to help with food because food is my passion.

Your work involves a lot of food particularly Mexican dishes, but what are your personal favourite dishes to eat and make?
Mutton Rendang, if I am cooking for friends and Aglio Olio with Bacon, if I am cooking for myself.

It’s a popular belief that good deeds come with great rewards. So any progress with Meals For All ever since the birth of it?
We started off by helping soup kitchens. Now, we help out orphanages and refugee centers too. Besides helping out the needy, we have also continuously work with college student for their CSR projects. At the moment, we are on a-year-long project with UCSI University.
What is your philosophy in life?
Use your passion to help others, and not just to earn a living.
