Working in a service industry is not easy when you need to fulfill customer’s demand especially working in a fast pace restaurant. Here are 5 things situations that could bug your day when working at a restaurant.
1) Asking for discount
There are customers that asks for discount or free vouchers during the pay. Some of them request for discounts just because the dishes were too salty for them or they simply want a discount because the dishes were sent late to them.
2) Customer dine in 15 minutes before closing
We must bear in mind that the customer is always right when we work as a waiter at a restaurant. We need to serve them even if they come in during the last few comments before the closing, customer is the boss.
3) Running back and forth
Calling the waiter over and over again isn’t the worst thing, but do keep in mind that they have other tables to serve too and they could be held-back by another table.
4) Kids running around
Working in restaurants doesn’t quite fit a babysitter’s role, having children running around isn’t the worst thing, but when they get a little out of hand when knocking things over, or disturbing other diners could be a little but of a mess at a restaurant.
5) “Please” and “Thank You”
Remember the people that serve you are also humans with emotions. Your words and actions could mean a lot to them especially the ones who were already having a bad day. Saying “please” and ‘thank you” could just brighten up your waiter’s day!
