If you’ve been living in the cave during the past week, a man by the name of ‘Azrul’ made a name for himself when he called during a live talk show and embarrassed YB Nurul Izzah about her “inappropriate” style of dressing on air which left YB Nurul Izzah speechless. This incident instantly went viral on social media and news everywhere.

The man said this to Nurul Izzah:
“”Hari tu kita ada jumpa dekat Bernama. Sebab hari tu bertugas di situ. I tu nak share sikit, lepas ini YB kena berhati-hati sikit la sebab kadang-kadang YB pakai tudung kan, tudung YB kadang-kadang terselak tau kadang-kadang ternampak part yang tak sepatutnya la. Sebab YB pakai kebaya kan, kebaya ketat tu nampak tutup tu lah. Pastu saya nampak baju dalam semua nampak buah dada la”
Basically, the man asked YB Nurul Izzah to be careful in dressing up, as he could see the inappropriate parts of her body.
Many people took it to Twitter to criticize this man for his silly comments that makes no sense at all. The word “Azrul” even became a proper (urban) noun of its own specifically to describe a man with the similar scummy behavior who attempts public shaming on other people.

cant bring myself to listen to the Nurul Izzah interview. i will just be sorely disappointed with men. if given how already modestly dressed NI is and yet he can have pervasive thoughts and see things that are covered, then idk, he probably shouldnt be allowed on the streets.

Nurul Izzah, a graduate from a top university, an accomplished politician, an MP, a mother.
But to that man, her worth is reduced to tudung and buah dada.
Toxic mentality. When women say “men are trash” out of frustration, it’s this kind of men that they are referring to. https://t.co/om706VDWDT

Even YB Nurul Izzah herself, tweeted about it to show her appreciation to everyone who stood up for her.
Appreciate it dear.Initially, I was taken aback. But heartened by the sensitivity and grace of so many in defence of women ewhere. Such invasiveness smacks of the sexism and harassment women have had 2 endure. We must push back , inculcate better appreciation& treatment of women. https://t.co/3LUYlN7uKU

New Malaysia is doing its thing right there. It is nice to see that Malaysians are standing up against public sexual harassment in our country.
What would you do if you meet an Azrul?
