Because the author of the multi-million trilogy, Suzanne Collins, announced on Scholastic that a new ” The Hunger Games” book is on its way!

We are totally psyched up about the announcement! While we’ve ALWAYS heard of the “Dark Days” being mentioned in the movies and how it was swept under the carpet by the Hunger Games characters… Oooh, shivers.

This time, Suzanne Collins takes us back to Panem, 64 years before. Readers and fans can finally get a glimpse of the “Dark Days” in this new novel. Collins mentioned in a statement:
“With this book, I wanted to explore the state of nature, who we are, and what we perceive is required for our survival,” – Suzanne Collins
There’s still yet for a name to be given to the new prequel, but it is scheduled to be released on May 19th, 2020.
