They say that lightning rarely strikes twice…but what if it did?
For Malaysian barista Irvine Quek Siew Lhek, it happened.
He recently won the 2019 World Latte Art Battle in Seoul, scoring 73 points, winning first place and beating South Korea’s Kim Young Jin by 10 points. Surprisingly, he also won the 2018 World Latte Art Championship in Brazil! He has won two awards two years in a row. Something like that only comes once in a blue moon!

The journey to victory has not been an easy feat for Irvine. He heads to endure trial and error, perfecting the design of the coffee art, and full of stress. The design that he won the competition for, the “Bear And Fish” took a grueling 3 months to developer for just ONE pattern. Not to mention that he must perfect every single detail.

Congratulations to Irvine for your hard work and achievements in putting Malaysia on the world map! Malaysia Boleh!
