It ain’t an easy task to create such a small piece of art and craft.
Meet Lim Pui Wan, a 24-year-old full-time miniature artist who creates mini items as a form of art, whether it is a piece of Roti Canai and other food to furniture and technology items.
Her dream came true after her sister gifted her a book about miniatures that she got from Taiwan, but she had no clue why her sister chose that book for her. Her sister too has an interest in miniatures as she collects miniature items.
And after reading the book, she was brought into the world of miniature art.
According to Rojak Daily, Pui Wan started it off as a hobby but it turned into an obsession as she started to buy many books about miniature art and got a better understanding of how it works. She then began to fall in love with miniatures.
Just look at how cute these are! Ranging from every Malaysian’s favourite snacks, and even buildings and kopitiams!
Pui Wan also mentioned that she started to create some miniature items in an attempt to explore more about the art, however during the process, she struggled to develop her skills because it was hard to find the materials to make the miniature items.
Even though it was tough, she won her first competition in 2012 (the Dollhouse Competition organised by Dollhouse and Miniature Association Malaysia)
In 2014, she decided to launch her own website and social media sites by using the name ‘picoworm’ to showcase her achievements and also to better market her products.

Pui Wan believes that there’s no limit to learning because she achieved many things since she was young. Miniature art takes a lot of patience to create and it is not an easy job, to those who think it’s impossible, Pui Wan proved that nothing is impossible to learn!
