In the aftermath of the economic downturn caused by the Covid-19 pandemic, Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin unveiled an economic stimulus package, Bantuan PRIHATIN Nasional, valued at RM250bil to minimise the worst effects of the Covid-19 outbreak.
Since then, the Ministry of Finance has enlightened us with more details on the BPN cash aid that would be distributed to eligible Malaysians. The main goal of this initiative is to help Malaysians from the B40 and M40 group with the economical impact. So, what is B40 & M40?
B40 is the base group which earns less than RM4,360 in monthly household income, while M40 is the middle class group which earns between RM4,361 and RM9,619.
Who can qualify for this PRIHATIN package?
There are 4 groups of people who can qualify for this cash aid:
- Household income of RM 4,000 and below
- Household income of RM 4,001 to RM 8,000
- Single adults with income of RM 2,000 and below
- Single adults with income of RM 2,001 to RM 4,000
So, how do you apply for it?
If you have already successfully registered for Bantuan Sara Hidup (BSH) or the Inland Revenue Board (LHDN), you do not need to make any further applications. The BPN cash aid will then be transferred to your registered bank account accordingly.

For eligible Malaysians that have not yet registered with BSH or LHDN, you can apply for the BPN cash aid at http://www.hasil.gov.my. The portal will be accepting new applications starting 1st April 2020.
