Not all heroes wear capes.
Do you wonder how animal shelters are fairing during this MCO period? We could sum it up in two words: Not good.
Since most businesses are asked to shut during this time, it’s been difficult for animal shelters to get enough kibble or leftover food to feed these animals. Which means a lot of tiny mouths are going hungry.
However, this little girl is not ready to give in so easily.
This is 11 year-old Caitlin Tang from Penang, and she is making and selling her waffles to raise funds for the strays.
The young girl first came up with the idea to make earnings from her goods after passing a neighbour some of her delicious homemade treats. Caitlin’s parents were so supportive that they helped her set up her own ecommerce siteto help her sell the waffles.
Since launching her project on 19 April, Caitlin has collected a total of RM2,364, stating that the most sales she had in a day is 12 orders for 46 waffles! Quite a feat for such a young child.
So if you’re in Penang and stay in Tanjung Tokong or Tanjung Bungah, head over to Caitlin’s Waffles website to get yourself a waffle fix! It’s cheap and it’s all for a good cause!
