By now you must know that K-pop girl group, BLACKPINK has released a new single last Friday (26/06/20) for the first time in a year. I mean, “How You Like That” became a trending topic on Twitter almost immediately, and since, no one has shut up about it.

Did you know that since its release less than a week ago, the song went on to break several records for BLACKPINK as a K-pop girl group? Here is a list of all the accomplishments they hit with “How You Like That”!
1.Highest viewed video premiere

This has to be a no brainer since the group and their record label has been teasing fans with their song’s release since mid-June. In fact, the first post on Instagram regarding the release of the song garnered nearly 4 million likes.
There was even a countdown to when “How You Like That” would be released onto major platforms!
2.The most 1# songs on iTunes as a girl group

The song topped the iTunes chart in over 60 countries and territories, including Sweden, Hungary, Vietnam, Singapore, Hong Kong, Finland, Ukraine, India, Mexico, Denmark, Cambodia and many more!
They also peaked in the UK’s top 10 charts.
3.Fastest Korean song to get certified Platinum twice in QQ Music

QQ Music is one of the three Chinese “freemium” music streaming services, and is developed and owned by Tencent Music. They have over 700 million users and an estimate of 120 million subscribers.
The song also dominated charts in Japan’s Line Music!
4.Biggest debut for a girl group song on Spotify

This one is a little bittersweet, as BLACKPINK surpassed the predecessor to the title, “Sour Candy”, the group’s own collaboration with Lady Gaga (say what?).

Flo is one of the main music streaming services in South Korea, and is owned by SK Telecom. It used to run a near-real-time music chart which is updated hourly, so users can always know who is on the top.
6.The highest amount of unique listeners in the first hour on MelOn for a girl group song

Within the first hour of its release, “How You Like That” hit over 102,725 unique listeners on MelOn, one of Korea’s most popular online music streaming services. But this isn’t the only record they broke for the website.
7.Highest amount of unique listeners on MelOn
“How You Like That” by @BLACKPINK has now surpassed 835,000 unique listeners on MelOn.
It’s the first and only idol group song to reach this milestone in 2020.

BLACKPINK also managed to snag the spot for highest number of unique listeners for “How You Like That” as a girl group on the streaming site.
8.Debut on the MelOn daily chart

Charting a debut is no easy feat, but BLACKPINK made it look like a walk in a park as they become the first and only group song that debut at 1# on MelOn Daily Chart in 2020!
9.Highest amount of views in 24 hours.

While this is yet to be confirmed by Youtube, BLACKPINK’s “How You Like That” music video garnered over 82.3 million views within its first 24 hours of being on the site.
This makes it the biggest music video debut in the history of Youtube, and not to mention, well deserved too!
