You would think that taking off your mask for a meal would be ideal but TikTok user Zachary Yeoh was fined RM10,000 by 10 officers for taking off his mask after sipping his drink.
According to TikTok user @Zacharyyeoh, him and his girlfriend was at a restaurant in Cheras and decided to dine in, they placed their orders with their mask on and only took their mask off when their drinks arrived to take a sip of their ordered drinks. “Naturally you would take off your mask to drink” said Zachary in a video that has since gone viral over social media.

Shortly after, 10 officers approached them and requested for their identification card (IC) and they then issued summons worth RM10,000 each to him and his girlfriend.
Although, many comments flooded in after hearing his story and asked for proof of his Summon as well as the MySejahtera history as many assume that the reason of the summon was due to his negligence of not scanning the Mysejahtera code when dining in.
Although, he mentioned on his Instagram story that he will not share pictures of the summon due to privacy.
In efforts to ensure that everyone follows the SOPs, the government has increased the fine for violating SOPs from RM1,000 to RM10,000.
