As if their opening hours aren’t fantastic enough, the price range is surprisingly affordable and a typical dim sum feast for a group of 5 usually doesn’t exceed RM120. You can get other kinds of Chinese dishes here like chee cheong fun, buns, porridge, and all the comfort food you need.
3. Hayaki
Serving a taste of the east coast at the cosy setting of a corner shop at Damansara Utama, Hayaki is the place to go if you’re bored of Nasi Kandar and want to get your hands on some good ol’ Nasi Kerabu. This Kelantanese eatery also serves some convenient breakfast meals like milk and cereal, aside from its typical toast and half boiled eggs. If heavy meals aren’t your thing, you can get tauhu bakar or even keropok lekor here.
4. In House
An Asian fusion café that serves Western dishes with a bit of Taiwanese and Hong Kong flavours, we can’t really think of anything better than this if you’re up for a feast in the middle of the night. You’d be surprise by the portion and the kinds of food you’d find here, especially hard-to-find Chinese delicacies like Xiao Long Bao, a major treat for really late nights. Try to not expect anything too fancy and you’d surely enjoy the wide menu at In House.
5. Restoran Makanan Ban Lee
Having Bak Kut Teh past 12am is like receiving a warm hug but in broth form and Ban Lee serves that and more! What you can expect is a simple regular Chinese shop with plastic tables and chairs, but you certainly will leave home with a satisfied belly thanks to their range of Chinese staple dishes like side vegetables and Bak Kut Teh, a definite distinguisher in this list if you’re into a more fulfilling meal.
6. Wong Ah Wah Chicken Wings @ Jalan Alor
Located at the golden triangle of the city, Jalan Alor is a favourite among partygoers who need a good pick-me-up after happy hours. Popular for its amazing hawker food, it’s Wong Ah Wah Chicken Wings that captures the heart of locals and tourists alike for its glazed goodness – some say it’s the best in Kuala Lumpur! If you haven’t tried it, we suggest you do the next time you head for drinks at Changkat.
7. The Port
Fans of tid bits and snacks, this is where you can go whenever your mind starts drifting towards specific dishes like Pisang Goreng Cheese, Mexican food, and crispy spring rolls. Bring along your friends and come here for a “lepak sesh”, since The Port has a spacious outdoor setting you can sit at for a simple night of inexpensive food and chitchat.
8. Geo’s Street Hartamas
This isn’t a 24-hour place but it does close very late (around 2-3AM), so if you’ve good pasta in mind or affordable Western dishes, you can count on Geo’s. We absolutely dig the cheesy nuggets that come in generous portions, as well as the wide variety of snacks like chicken wings if you want some side to dishes to go along with your main course. To sum it up, Geo’s is a Western-style mamak you cannot miss.
