Time passes as we have reached to the edge of mid-2017, as the cinemas has been blazing us with amazing movies of different genre, despite of critics review. This year might mark as the year of horror as we have been spooked with a few movies since the first half of 2017, such as Split, The Bride, Get Out and The Bye Bye Man. Get your blankets and pillows ready or perhaps bring along your dear teddy as Horrorville is about to pay a few visits to the cinemas for the rest of the year.
1. Jigsaw
The infamous torture game has returned to test the limits of some unlucky poor victims again. Setting in 10 decades after the death of the Jigsaw killer, bodies are piling up all over the city in the most mutilated and gruesome way possible. How could this be seeing that John Kramer is dead? Is there a hidden agenda? Is there a new killer on the horizon? Coming soon in October, just in time to spook our Halloween month.
2. Annabelle: Creation
Ohh a cute life-sized doll with big big scary eyes.. What could possibly go wrong? I love it mommy, I want it please! A prequel to the first Annabelle movie, it will finally explore the creation and origins of the Annabelle doll since her introduction in The Conjuring that still shivers me in trauma till this day. Set to release soon in August, best bring your pillows to the cinema as it has scored a staggering 100% on Rotten Tomatoes.
3. It
Woohoo our friendly loving Pennywise the clown is back to entertain us with his comical act and terrorize our deepest fears in this Stephen King’s remake. The sadistic clown may not be portrayed by Tim Curry this time, so let’s just hope that the new actor could reach the performance as great as the original sadistic clown which we will find out in September.
4. Amityville: The Awakening
A family has moved to a new house only to realize that they had moved to the infamous Amityville house as the protagonist’s brother who was in coma recovered miraculously and her little sister has been getting horrifying nightmares. This led to her suspecting her mother may have secrets involving the haunting of the Amityville house. Initially set to release in June 2017 after years of delays, it was delayed again due to conflicts thus the current release date is unknown.
5. Happy Death Day
Take this as a Edge of Tomorrow-ish type of horror in this slasher film, as a birthday girl got a most surprising gift ever, getting killed on her birthday only to relive the same day and being killed again repeatedly. Probably her best birthday bash ever!
6. Polaroid
Photo addicts! Photogenics! Get a hold of this classic polaroid camera and snap all you want as much as you like but just make sure there aren’t any shadows or mysterious figures behind you in the photo. Apparently anyone whose photo is taken with the cursed camera would end up getting killed. Polaroid is scheduled to release in August soon.
