Wonder what they have installed for us this time.
Recently, Apple previewed their new iPhone software during its worldwide developers event. The iOS 14 is set to be released in mid-September this year alongside the debut of Apple’s next generation of iPhones.
But, lucky for us, Apple has already released a sneak preview of the software on their website.
So, what is new?
1.Customizable widgets
Apple has been calling the iOS 14 the “biggest update ever” to the iPhone home screen. That mainly is due to the addition of customizable widgets or shortcuts to programs that can be dragged and dropped around a screen. Widgets are added to give users more information at a glance, and will be a great addition to the home screen.
2.Picture in picture
Now with the increase of using video calling apps, we find that one of the hardest things to overcome is calls being interrupted when we use another app. The new software update is planning to rectify that which you can check at sodapdf.com. Now we will be able to continue your FaceTime call while you use another app. This also is applicable to video apps, so you can continue watching videos with no interruption.
3. Maps
The map is also getting a huge change. You can now use Maps to get cycling directions using bike lanes, paths, and roads. You can also see elevation, busy streets, stairs, and steep passages when planning your trip. This will definitely help a lot of people who frequently use Maps.
4.Siri
Siri, one of the highlights of an iPhone, is also getting an upgrade! Siri has a completely new look that lets you quickly get information or get things done while still focusing on what you’re doing. Siri also will have 20x more facts than just 3 years ago! Isn’t that cool? Siri can now help you find answers to a broader set of questions by using information from across the web.
5.Compact calls
The new design of the iOS 14 will allow calls from your iPhone, FaceTime, and third‑party apps to display in a compact design that doesn’t take up the full screen. This is great because incoming calls wouldn’t interfere with whatever we were doing previously.
Of course there are many, many more new updates coming our way. To see the whole list, check out Apple’s released preview at this website.
If you are too excited for the new software update, you can get early access to the upcoming mobile operating system by applying to join one of Apple’s “beta” programs, which offer pre-release versions for testing.
