Hi Jason! Tell us more about yourself
I am Dr Jason Leong, former medical doctor turned stand-up comedian, the Purveyor Of Laughter, Provider of Chuckles, and Giver of Giggles. I’m on a Game of Thrones high at the moment.
What inspire you to become a comedian?
As a kid I was always the class clown, and I loved jokes and telling jokes. So it became a natural extension of my interests and hobbies.
Share with us your journey in becoming one of the best comedian in Malaysia.
A lot of hard work, and perserverance. There will be some shows where you don’t get the laughs and it’s what you do after a bad show that will define a comedian. Much like how we get up after we fall. Fall down 7 times, get up 8 times.
There are so many shows lining up, where do you usually get your inspiration/content from?
Observation, mostly. Life is full of absurdities 😉
Being a comedian, you always bring laughter to your audience; what would you do when life gives you lemon?
Make teh ‘o’ ais limau. Now I need someone to give me water, tea and ice. Oh and a cup. And a straw. Life is very demanding, is what I’m trying to say.
Among all the performances, can you share with us a few highlight ones or those you have the deepest memory of it?
Recently, I performed for Comedy Central Asia’s Stand-up Asia, which will premiere on 22nd August 2017 on Hypp Tv Ch 609 and Astro Go. I will appear on the episode that airs 5th September! 🙂
Share with us some of the other activities/hobbies that you venture in life
I love Brazilian Jiujitsu, Game of Thrones, movies, and dreaming of money.
What is a typical day off for you?
Well I don’t have days off or on because I do what I love, which is comedy, so every day is a day off because I am doing what I love, and every day is a day of work because I have to write new jokes, new videos, etc.

Any life motto?
“Always make sure your Touch n Go card has enough balance, especially if you are a Smart Tag user, because then you may have to reverse on a Smart Tag lane and that is just embarrassing”. It’s a very long motto. Also, Winter is Coming. I feel like I’ve read that somewhere….
