It was indeed a nightmare for concert-goers.
The Fantastic Duo Concert, featuring Taiwanese singer-songwriters David Tao Zee and Shin which was supposed to take place over the weekend at SPICE Arena in Penang was suddenly called off on the spot due to unforeseen circumstances.
The sudden turn of event has obviously left concert-goers angry, frustrated and disappointed.
According to the picture above, the sudden concert cancellation was mainly due to embezzlement within the concert’s organization, WGM-Entertainment. David Tao and Shin’s management agency, Dream Factory Entertainment explained that the duo were unable to perform on Saturday because they weren’t paid. According to the director of Dream Factory Entertainment, the singers were actually preparing to head over to the concert venue when the announcement from the organizers broke out.
TheStar newspaper also reported that a lawyer, who was entrusted with the funds had allegedly gone missing after he was paid RM 6.8 million for the concert.
Rumour has it that the lawyer who disappeared is currently in China.
David Tao Zee and Shin have since made a statement on their official Facebook pages, informing the fans about the incident and even showed evidence that the organizer did not pay their management company, and they regretted that they could not go ahead with the show last Saturday.
In the wake of the unfortunate turn of event, both stars promised that they will be returning to Penang to hold a free concert for their fans.
