Tan Sri Lim Kok Wing, the President of the Limkokwing University of Creative Technology passed away yesterday on 1 June 2021.
The philanthropist was reported to be hospitalised since last week after a fall at home but was in stable condition. Rumours about his death were on viral earlier yesterday and finally been confirmed by the University through an official press statement. His ex-wife has also taken it to her Facebook on behalf of their children:
TS Lim Kok Wing was much more than a Founder of a university.
He’s also a prominent artist and entrepreneur that was well-known globally for his excellent creativity and innovations. He began his career as an illustrator and decided to start his own company after years in the industry. In 1991, the education institute of creative technology that bears his name has been founded and became the first-ever recognised Malaysia University College in 2002. Campus branches have also been opened in many Asian and African countries throughout these years as it grows.
