Let’s face it. There are some nights when we have way too many beers and liquors to handle. Whether it’s your best friend’s stag party or after-work happy hours, saying no to another shot or pint can be a challenge when you’re having fun. However, the great drinking also comes with a great hangover. The aftermath is excruciating.
You’ll feel sluggish, suffering a red eye, and worst of all, that throbbing headache. The next time you find yourself battling a hangover, here’s what you need to do.
1. Drinks lots of water
One of the best ways to overcome that dreadful hangover is by drinking lots of fluids and we don’t mean more beers in the system. Drinking more water will overcome the dehydration you’re facing from the night-long liquor intake. Aside from that, it also helps to remove the impurities from your body system.
2. Skip caffeine
We understand that having a cup of coffee to stay awake and alert may sound like a good idea. I mean, everyone needs a little motivation to start their day right? However, indulging on caffeine after a hangover can bring out the worst in your hydration levels. If you don’t feel like settling for water, try coconut water or sports drink instead.
3. Enjoy a good breakfast
Here’s another reason why you should have breakfast every morning. It helps to cure hangovers too. Eating a healthy breakfast assists in adding the nutrients lost after a night of binge drinking. Skip the crispy bacon and dive straight to breakfast staples such as eggs, bananas, cereals or toasts to beat that hangover.
4. Sleep it Off
Sometimes, all you need is a few hours of rest to cure your hangover. It’s your body’s way of recuperating and recovering from the hour-long partying. Save the entire afternoon to yourself and bounce back to your joyful self after getting plenty of sleep and rest.
