Ramadhan season is coming up, and we commonly associate such memories with home, family and familiar ambience and delicacies.
Berjaya Times Square Hotel takes memories to a whole new-level with their Ramadhan buffet preview of what’s to come this year. With make-shift stands that resemble our road-side delicacy memories of Murtabaks and Sirap Bandungs on a hot and sunny Ramadhan bizarre.
Berjaya did not stop there, the road-stands continued on outside of the lobby with Roti Johns and Ikan Bar stands
With so many nostalgic set-ups, it’s only sensible to sip on the most classic local past-time drink of all while experiencing all of this, teh-tarik.
The often-overlooked salad bar to start and perk up your appetites, with a refreshing spicy chickpea salad with red chilis and onions that definitely woke our tastebuds and was a great open-act to the devouring we were about to do.
Although sticking to its true theme of a roadside bazaar, they definitely do not compromise their wow-factor with their amazing roasted whole lamb, with its amazing salty crisp skin along with the perfect compliment choice of both rosemary and mint sauce. And along with the sliced morsels cut by the chefs right in front of you, it comes highly recommended with the fluffy, well-seasoned Briyani with raisins, roasted potatoes and cashews for the perfect mouth-feel.
And also is it truly a Ramadhan feast without Nasi Lemak? With it’s traditional hard-to-miss sides of Daging Dendeng and the sambal to envelope the rich coconut fragrance of the rice, comes an addictive local favourite that the country’s citizens will fall to its knees for.
BUT WAIT!
Berjaya Hotel has included a choice of sambal-cooked lobster for you to feast! It’s so wrong that it’s so good! The sweetness of the lobster elevated the dish itself and the perfume of the entire dish.
If you find yourself wanting something a little different from the traditional dishes (we can’t imagine why!), Berjaya’s Ramadhan buffet offers a variety of International dishes like Sous-vide Beef Steak with Mushroom Ragout. Aside from enjoying a feast, you’ll also be thrilled to learn the benefits of lions mane mushroom powder.
Its mushroom ragout has a creamy taste in contrast to the flavour of the of savoury rosemary sauce and the tender meat. We could not put our forks down for this one!
Salmon Fillet with Red Pepper Sauce and Tomato, Cumber Salsa is for anyone who prefers something lighter from all the rich poultry. The red pepper sauce and salsa introduced a nice depth of flavour and pronounced a tickling heat that didn’t make it just a one-dimensional dish of salt, pepper and protein.
With all these delicious savoury meals, we got even more excited as we rolled into dessert.
They served us up with tantalising traditional assortment of kuihs.
With the sweet kuihs, they’ve also included decadent cakes like Pandan Chiffon Cheesecakes and Mango Charlotte and light desserts like Mixed Berry Panna Cotta and Fruit Flan to their diverse arsenal of sweet treats.
