An achievement to be remembered by our local hockey team!
The National Men’s Hockey Team, ‘Malaysian Tigers’, have earned themselves a roaring achievement after reigning Champion at the Four-Nations Invitation, held in Terrassa, Spain, yesterday, with a 3-3 draw against World No. 6 England.
It was a streak of wins: after conquering Spain on August 1st (4-3), and on August 2nd with Ireland (2-1), Spain with four points, Ireland two points, and England two points. For the Malaysian Tigers, who is ranked World No. 12, this is truly a remarkable achievement.
The Malaysian Tigers had begun their European tour with a 4-2 win against World No. 7 Germany and with a 0-1 win against World No. 9 Spain on July 26th.
The next hurdle to be overcome by our National Men’s Hockey Team would be against World No. 3 The Netherlands (August 6th & August 8th) and World No. 2 Belgium (August 10th & August 12th).
The Malaysian Tigers will also proceed to the Olympic Qualifier that will be held in October, in order to qualify to the Tokyo Olympics 2020 games.
Fingers crossed for our National Men’s Hockey Team and for their next matches leading up to the Olympic Qualifier!
