To say that the MCO has caused our country an economical disadvantage is an understatement.
With shops having to close due to Covid-19, many businesses are struggling to keep afloat. With the collapse of businesses of any size en masse, millions of people are losing their jobs and struggling to put food on the table and keep a roof over their heads.
The government has put together a RM 250 billion stimulus package to help everyone during this very tough time. However, the package is mainly geared towards helping families from the B40 and M40 groups, leaving a lot unaccounted for.
Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah has decided to not accept six months worth of Royal Emoluments, in hopes that the money would go towards helping the country’s financial burden during this time.
Malaysia’s King decrees the government need not pay royal emolument to His Majesty and the Queen for six months beginning March 2020.

This move is also in line with the Cabinet’s decision to dock the payment of our Prime Minister, ministers and deputy ministers’ salaries for two months.
Hopefully, this would help our people during this very hard time. We thank our Royals and our government for their generosity.
