“Do you have a favorite seat?”

The art scene of Malaysia has been heavily affected by the Movement Restriction Order. Be it film production or theatre production, shooting cannot be executed, rehearsals cannot run, shows can’t go on. Even the arts students cannot enjoy the full learning experience in this period of time.
The Kuala Lumpur Performing Arts Centre, known as KLPAC, is one of the most notable performance spaces in Malaysia. However, up to 10 shows have to be cancelled or postponed, which is heavily affecting the funding for them. Although many chose to donate their refunds for the tickets, they are certainly not enough for the hundreds of art makers who rely on KLPAC for their livelihood.
Hence, KLPAC is launching a fundraiser, allowing the public to “adopt their favorite seats,” and donate funds to help the future of arts in Malaysia!

Check out their website or their Instagram for more details. Arts might not be an essential service during the COVID-19, but it’s definitely essential for a lot of people as their spiritual support, voicing out for the voiceless. Let’s donate, because #TogetherWeCan.
In the meantime, you can still fill your mind with arts from this list of livestreams or videos of past productions worldwide on their Facebook.
