After 2 years, Parliament has passed the law on the rights of same-ex couples to marry.
Making them the first Asian country to legalize same-sex marriage.
The legislation with nearly 24 million people voting for the rights of same-sex couples, gives same-sex couples the rights for health insurance, child-care and adoption rights.
Last Friday, about 40,000 supporters gathered outside of the Parliament’s building in the pouring rain, to witness the passing of the bill.
