It was revealed that the former chief creative officer of Calvin Klein had a long friendship with Head Designer, Miuccia Prada – “We like each other, we respect each other, we will see where that takes us”, Prada said. Collaborative efforts between the two huge fashion houses aren’t really all that frequent or even happen at all but thanks to their friendship and deep love for modern art, it is a different case this time. “We think it’s probably the first time that two designers, two mature designers, decided to work together,” Prada told The Cut’s Cathy Horyn via a phone interview.
52-year-old Simon has always been particularly drawn to menswear, and on the other hand, Prada has always looked to evoke feminism through her work. However, Simon is very confident that the two will complement each other, noting that, “When we both believe in [an idea], we’re going to do it, When one doesn’t believe in it, we won’t do it”.
Their upcoming partnership will officially commence on April 2, 2020. So, stay tuned!
