The war between the Saviours and Alexandria, Hilltop and Kingdom is nearly coming to an end with the unfortunate bombshell of a character’s death at the end of Season 8 midseason finale. How could Rick cope with the rest of the season with the sudden death of his son? Anyways, it will be a major turn of events from now on and with the crossover event coming in, what will be in store for the future of The Walking Dead?
1) Carl Dies. No Point Hoping
As much as it hurts to say it, there’s no hope and reason left to speculate whether or not that Carl would survive the bite. Some theories may have came up with that it was the bite of a Whisperer or Carl is just immune to the walking corpse virus. Carl was last seen in the midseason finale taking a heavy load and being in high sickness so there’s no use hoping for a miracle. Oh Cooorallll….
2) Daryl as the leader of the Saviours
In comics, Dwight was appointed as the leader of the Saviours after Negan’s downfall in the All Out War storyline but the show could divert from it. I can see that Daryl could take the responsibility as the leader of the group that he was once held in captive, seeing that now Maggie is the leader of the Hilltop and Rick is of Alexandria. With that being said, Dwight could be the right hand man of Daryl.
3) The Adventures of Rick and Negan
With Carl out of the story, season 8B could focus more on the relationship between the frenemies, as Rick will surely spared Negan’s life as in the comics. Morgan had already built the cage back from Season 6 and that is where Rick would held Negan in captive.
4) Old Man Rick or Dead Man Rick?
The scene of Rick waking up as old aged with Carl, Judith and Michonne really created a buzz and had everyone scratching their heads. It is because of Carl’s death that Rick is having delusions of his own? Or is it a slight, happy dream before his eventual demise? As seen after that scene, Rick was in sweat and tears and he looked pale as white that the first thought that came to my mind was the main character of The Walking Dead might be getting axed soon.
5) Crossover Storyline
With the crossover coming soon, Morgan serves as the bridge of connection as he jumped ship from the main show to Fear The Walking Dead. Rick seeing the helicopter scene could be the hint of the New World Order arc that brings in the Clark family to the fray. If only Travis was alive so that the two top guys of both shows could meet.
