The Malaysian government has enforced new business hours upon supermarkets, eateries, petrol stations and delivery couriers nationwide in light of the COVID-19 outbreak.
In order for the healthcare system to not be overwhelmed, we must work together as a community to flatten the curve. The idea of flattening the curve is to stagger the number of new cases over a longer period, so that people have better access to care. To do this, the spread of the highly infectious virus must be contained.
In the hopes of achieving this, the Malaysian government has enforced strict rules and regulations by which Malaysian citizens must abide by, including a revision on new business hours following the second instalment of the MCO.
Starting From 1st April, all business premises and stores nationwide will only operate from 8AM to 8PM. This includes services such as restaurants, hawker stalls, hypermarkets, supermarkets, petrol stations and food delivery services!
As the MCO extends itself to another fortnight, Senior Minister (Security Cluster) Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob mentioned that there will be more enforcements and roadblocks to check on the movement of the people.
