1. Gym attire
It’s important to find gym attire that flatters your physique and movements. Pick a pair of workout attire that is breathable, comfortable and lightweight. It’s also crucial to choose an outfit that complements that movement you’ll be doing such as lightweight shorts for running and sleeveless tanks for weightlifting.
2. Fitness tracker
The best way to monitor your calorie count or heart rate is to have a fitness tracker ready on your smartphone. There are many fitness apps that you can download to track your movements when you’re working out in the gym. Otherwise, you can always invest on a fitness watch to have your step and calorie counts within reach.
3. Protein powder
We wouldn’t recommend bringing the entire tub of protein powder. Save some storage space in your bag by placing a few scoops of protein powder into a shaker or blender bottle and fill it up with water once you’re done working out.
While most gyms provide the standard toiletries in the shower room, feel free to bring small bottles of your favourite toiletries. Shampoo, conditioner and body wash are a good trio, to begin with. Remember to also bring your travel-sized cologne, deodorant, and comb for times when you need them.
An intense workout is incomplete without energetic and upbeat playlist to listen to. Instead of interrupting your gym buddies by blasting the speakers, be considerate and bring your own pair of earphones. That way you can listen to whatever music you want that motivates you.
