Mountains may be known for their primary factor which is height. But, height alone can’t determine the beauty of a mountain.
Mountains are breathtakingly beautiful and remind us how small we are. To scale a mountain is a challenge not everyone can take on, if you don’t have the chance to scale a mountain in the wilderness though, you can still look up at the peaks and admire them and find inspiration.

This mountain is believed to be very sacred in 4 religions; Hinduism, Buddhism, Jainism, and Bön. The holy mountain is situated near some of Asia’s longest rivers’ sources.
Mount Kailash has an elevation of 21778 feet and is a popular place for pilgrimage. Pilgrims from different parts of the world come to visit Mount Kailash, it has said that this mountain brings good fortune. Some pilgrims even complete the entire walk in one day.
Mount Kailash is popular for mount climbing, it is one of the most beautiful mountains of the world.
2. Tre Cime di Lavaredo
The name Tre Cime di Lavaredo means Three Peaks of Lavaredo. The 3 peaks resemble defensive or battle walls. It is made of dolostones that are well-layered.
The highest of the three peaks has an elevation of 9839 feet.
3. Ama Dablam, Nepal
Ama Dablam is situated in the range of the Himalaya of eastern Nepal. This mountain’s primary peak is 22349 feet and the lower-eastern peak is 20243 feet.
The name of this mountain translates to the meaning of Mother’s Necklace. I was first looking for popular tourist spots across Roanoke, VA but stumbled to these.
The beautiful mountain was climbed for the first time in the year 1961 by a team of mountaineers led by the legendary Edmund Hillary.
4. Kirkjufell, Iceland
The Kirkjufell is a very beautiful mountain as many photographers have traveled all the way to the mountain just to capture its breath-taking scenery. The mountain’s isolated position makes it a very favorite place for photographers as well.
Kirkjufell is surrounded by many beaches and has one wonderful walking trail. It is a perfect place for those climbers who love challenges.
The view this mountain offers is endless as Kirkjufell can be seen projecting out into the sea and that makes it even more beautiful.
5. Matterhorn (Switzerland)
The summit of this mountain is 14,692 feet high. The Matterhorn is in the list of highest summits in Europe and the Alps. The shape of it is one huge & near-symmetrical pyramidal mountain.
The Matterhorn is actually an isolated mountain but during the nineteenth century’s end, railway lines were constructed in this area and this mountain started getting more visitors & climbers.
Frequent rapid weather changes occur in the Matterhorn this is because of the mountain’s position and its huge height.
