Whether it’s old or new, we are all fans of a good TV show especially a funny one. Before Netflix, there were actually a whole lot of good sitcom that are locally produced! Let’s review some of the best Malaysians sitcoms, shall we?
1. Kopitiam
This situation comedy was shown in NTV7 back then and it has seven seasons in total. The cast members were Joanna Bessey, Lina Teoh, Douglas Lim, Rashid Salleh and so on. The show was about how the tradition of a kopitiam is being maintained. It was nominated as the best sitcom in Asia in year 2000.

2. Spanar Jaya
Spanar Jaya has a total of 140 episodes and it is featuring Rambo Chin, Ahmad Idham, Zaibo, Wardina Safiyyah, and so on. This sitcom is basically describing how a man, Pak Selamat, a small businessman that is ambitious to become a successful businessman.

3. Jangan Ketawa
This sitcom was aired in TV3 and it has gathered actors and actresses of different races. On top of that, the show featured two actors which are Moon and Dee which makes the show a little not suitable for underage viewers.

4. Phua Chu Kang
Although this sitcom is based in Singapore but we all know that this show is so popular in Malaysia too. This show revolves around the Phua family and of course, Phua Chu Kang himself with his trademark yellow boots and large beauty spot on his face. The famous slogan he uses in the show is he is “ Best in Singapore, JB, and some say Batam”.

5. Pi Mai Pi Mai Tang Tu
This sit-come is said to be shown in Malaysia for the longest period of time which is close to 20 years. The show describes the reality of the changes in Malaysia’s citizens.

6. Senario
Senario was a 90s comedy sitcom where Saiful Apek was the king of comedy. The show has brought laughter to every Malaysian and it was a very hit sit-com back then.

7. Oh My English!
Oh My English! is a Malaysian comedy and educational television series which was shown on Astro TVIQ. The show describes how the students learn their English in school. The show is funny because of how the teachers teach English in school.

8. Waktu Rehat
Waktu Rehat is a TV show that revolves around a bunch of Malaysian high school students during recess. It describes how the students talk about their lives and express their feelings while dealing with high school life.

9. Bendul
Bendul is a sitcom that is very much inspired by Mr.Bean! The show was shot without a lot of dialogue, but with background music.
10. Doh Adoh
This sitcom is produced by RTM Sarawak, and it’s featuring multi-racial casts like Azie Mustapa, Chew Ta Hua, Mat Saji, Mos Utai, Hartina Adurahman and so on. Doh Adoh is about a government officer named Iswan and how he becomes friends with his Sarawakian colleagues and learns about Sarawak.
