In the wake of COVID-19, movie execs are pushing the premieres of their creations to a later date to accommodate these stressful times.
The reason?
As the situation continues to develop, theaters are more likely to be avoided as they are closed, communal spaces, and are likely to spread the virus faster.
Let’s take a look at some of the movies that will not be releasing on their previously confirmed due dates.

The James Bond franchise was the first to bow out of their release date when MGM, Universal and producers, Michael G Wilson and Barbara Broccoli, decided that the movie’s world premiere would benefit from a set back at these times.
Founders of M16 Confidential and The James Bond Dossier had this to say on the situation, “Just one person, who may not even show symptoms, could infect the rest of the audience (at the premiere).”

The 2018 sleeper hit has a new sequel, yet fans are forced to wait as The Quiet Place will be taking a hiatus from the theatres.
Director John Krasinski addressed the situation on Twitter. “One of the things I’m most proud of is that people have said our movie is one you have to see together. Well, due to the ever-changing circumstances of what’s going on in the world around us, now is clearly not the right time to do that. As insanely excited as we are for all of you to see this movie… I’m gonna wait to release the film ’til we CAN all see it together! So here’s to our group movie date! See you soon!”

The ninth installment of the Fast and Furious franchise has been delayed by a year because of the spread of the novel coronavirus.
Vin Diesel, who plays the main character, Dom, in the franchise said, “We feel all the love and the anticipation you have for the next chapter in our saga. That’s why it’s especially tough to let you know that we have to move the release date of the film. It’s become clear that it won’t be possible for all of our fans around the world to see the film this May. While we know there is disappointment in having to wait a little while longer, this move is made with the safety of everyone as our foremost consideration.”
