It is part of human’s nature to strive to be the first in life; first place in class, flying FIRST CLASS, first to be in line for the throne, first to discover America (yes, we meant you, Columbus), – you get the drift. Back here in Malaysia, we can see how being the 1st in everything makes a significant difference in everything we do. So here’s our breakdown on why being the first has its perks (which we bet ALL of us can relate to at some point):
1. Starting your day right (sort of)
If you’re still living under the same roof with your family, morning can be an affair of who gets to use the toilet first because it means that you’ll be able to dictate how much time that the next (and the following) person have to get ready for the day! Also, you’ll get to leave home early to beat the traffic (or LRT, depending on your mode of transportation) and have a wholesome breakfast before you start the day.
2. Your superior will be grateful for you
First to be at work, first to volunteer for new assignments (which eventually lead you to be the first to get promoted), there’s nothing bad that could happen if you strive to be the first at work (we can’t say the same if you’re always the first to leave work).
3. You get what you want in life (literally)
Being the first meaning getting your hands on concert ticket for ALL your favourite artists- Bruno Mars, Ed Sheeran, Jacky Cheung. Of course, you’ll have to be prepared to make the necessary sacrifices in order to get what you want.
4. “Sold out” is a foreign word
You always have your way of getting the latest gadgets before it’s even launched here in Malaysia. Same goes to that pair of limited pair of sneakers which everyone is drooling over. Sometimes we just need to “tayang” for that additional ego booster 🙂
5. You’re the leader of the pack!
Attention is good especially when you’re running a business. Take Astro Malaysia for an instance.
