Xiaomi is back again with another smart device.
Not only they have came out with affordable smartphones without compromising its quality, they have also ventured to beyond smartphones. From wireless earphones to scooters, power banks, and even a vacuum cleaner.
The Chinese electronics company recently released a lock that is fingerprint operated. This would save people so much time from tediously remembering their password or where they’ve kept their keys to the lock. According to information online, the lock was initially launched as part of a crowdfunding program.

1. The lock is sturdy
The U-Shaped padlock’s shackles are made of stainless steel. Stainless steel padlocks are normally case hardened to prevent against theft. Therefore, the padlock is not easily cut even with the aid of a hacksaw.
2. The padlock is battery operated
The padlock comes together with a USB type-C that allows consumers to charge it as a safety precaution. Additionally, a physical key also comes together with the lock to ensure that in the case the lock runs out of battery and the fingerprint scanning mechanism ceases to work, the key can be used to lock or unlock the padlock. It is said that a fully charged padlock can last up to 12 months!
3. The padlock is made available at a reasonable price tag
For a padlock that is fingerprint oriented the price is benched at a rather low price. The shorter beam one is priced at 199 RMB or about RM 117. The one with the longer beam is priced at 219RMB or RM 128 at the time of writing.
4. It is resistant to water and dust
According to a report done, it has been confirmed that the body of the lock is IP65 certified and is resistant to both dust and water. Xiaomi has also claimed that the lock has a resistance to high degrees of pressure!
5. More than one fingerprint can be registered
Xiaomi boasts a total of at least 10 fingerprints being able to be registered at once. Of course, this does not mean that you can scan all 10 of your fingers but rather 10 different people’s fingerprints can be registered.
