1. KLCC Park

Situated within walking distance of Suria KLCC, this tranquil and family-friendly spot transforms into into a massive New Year’s Eve concert venue with live music performances by local and international acts which ends with a great round of fireworks. The park showcases a Lake Symphony; a 10,000sqm manmade lake with a 43-metre bridge that cuts across it, plenty of greenery, fountains with water features, and patterned footpaths. This is one of the city’s most happening nocturnal boulevards and a great place to find that liquid courage I was talking about. During New Years moreover, these bars will take it up a notch with unique themes, special New Year’s Eve promotions, as well as resident deejays spinning a mix of house, electro-dance, pop, trance and hip-hop tracks.
3. Merdeka Square

Akin to the KLCC Park, this spot will give you an impressive and priceless celebration in the city centre. All you have to do is chill out in the iconic giant field with perfectly manicured green lawns and watch a number of choreographed traditional dances, singing acts, marching bands and a spectacular fireworks display in the parade grounds. I also recommend taking the monorail because it’s the New Years and you can bet your bottom dollar that roads will definitely be congested.

Aside from being a great place to walk your dogs, this is also a great spot to de-stress and also enjoy the countdown. Even though its considered a residential area, it is known to host awesome events that you can bring your pets too! So if you love animals, this will be a great place to celebrate the countdown with them.
5. TREC

Similar to Changkat Bukit Bintang, this place is packed with events and bazaars every single week, with or without it being the new year. So, you can bet TREC will celebrate the upcoming year with a (loud) bang! Head here if you want to do the countdown with lots of blood-pumping music.
