2017 has been a great year for music. But you know what’s even better? The albums that are about to drop in 2018.
Here are 8 albums to look forward to in 2018:
1. Fall Out Boy – MANIA
Formally titled Mania: A Fall Out Boy LP, this makes the 7th studio album for the band. Pete Wentz described this album as “a big palette cleanse”. “Young and Menace” and “Champion” are the album’s first two singles.
Release date: 19th January
2. Major Lazor – Music is the Weapon
This is the fourth studio album from the American electronic band. They’ve stated that bulk of the songs from this album are skewed towards club and festival songs than their previous album. Some of the confirmed tracks on the album include “Head Up High” featuring Sia, “Run Up” with Nicki Minaj and PARTYNEXTDOOR, “Carry Your Heart” featuring Camila Cabello, and more.

3. The 1975 – Music for Cars
This is the third studio album from the English Rock Band. Matt Healy said “I want people to look back and think our records were the most important pop records that a band put out in this decade,” when asked about the album’s style. The confirmed tracks are “I Always Wanna Die, Sometimes”, “It’s Not Living (If It’s Not With You” and more.
Release date: 1st June
4. MGMT – Little Dark Age
The electro-pop act has announced that they will release their fourth studio album in early 2018. The album features a single of the same name and unreleased songs such as “She Works Out Too Much” and “Me and Michael”.
Release date: February 2018
5. Owl City – Cinematic
Adam Young announced he will be releasing a new album in 2018! There will be 3 “Reels”, appropriately titled “Reel 1”, “Reel 2” and “Reel 3” with 3 songs per “reel”. Young has stated in a YouTube video announcing the album that it is very personal – all the songs are about him, the people in his life, the places he has been and more; it is like watching his life as a movie.

6. Charlie Puth – VoiceNotes
This is the second studio album from the talented singer-songwriter. He will also be going on a tour which shares the same name with the album. Among the tracks included in this upcoming album are “Attention”, “How Long” and “If You Leave Me Now” featuring Boyz II Men.
Release date: January 2018
7. Camila Cabello – Camila
The self-titled debut album was described as “the story of her journey from darkness into light, from a time when she was lost to a time when she found herself again.” The songs in the album are incredibly personal to her; deemed as “a chapter you never want to read out loud”.
Release date: 12th January 2018
8. Bastille
Bastille’s Dan Smith said in an interview that they wanted to do something that feels a bit different and would serve as a “an apocalyptic party record”. As of now, no official title or release date has been announced yet as they are still working on the album. “World Gone Mad” is the most recent track from the band since their previous album – a song from the soundtrack of Netflix’s “Bright”.
