After 8 seasons and a somewhat dissatisfying finale that left many fans with mixed feelings, a prequel for Game Of Thrones has been announced as in the works with more concrete news. HBO has decided to milk Game Of Thrones for all it’s worth and produce the prequel.

The prequel is called House of the Dragon and is set 300 years before the events of Game of Thrones. Instead of going to TV, it will go straight to streaming to the upcoming streaming service, HBO Max. It is scheduled to launch in May 2020. That means you can binge-watch the series!
The prequel will be based on the book by George R.R Martin, creator of Game of Thrones. The book that is based on is Fire and Blood Vol. 1. It delves into generation after generation of the dragon-riding family which eventually produced Daenerys.
Covering over 700 pages, Fire and Blood covers 150 years of Westeros history but tells half od Daenery’s history. The book tells Daenery’s great grandfather Aegon and see generations as they rise and fall. That’ll be an interesting study!
HBO has ordered a season of 10 episodes for the show, with a release date sometime in 2021. As of the time of writing, there has been no cast and crew, no episodes and no budget or production details.
