I’m sure we all love our daily cravings of McDonald’s fries or even the classic P. Ramly burger we so desperately crave every now and then.
But when you’re trying to lose weight, is it acceptable to eat these?
It is true that calories do affect how much fat you’re cutting off your body, But when eating foods that are low in calories, you want to aim for foods that are high in fiber and protein. When the food is low in either one of those, you are most likely to feel hungry constantly and resisting your temptation of snacking would be more difficult
So what are some of the food we should avoid eating when trying to lose weight?

1. Alcohol
Bear in mind that not all alcohol is bad, drinking wine in moderation just might actually be beneficial. But alcohol such as beer is known to cause weight gain. Heavy drinking has always been linked to gaining weight rapidly. So if you have a bad drinking habit, perhaps you should start thinking about cutting down your intake and perhaps taking wine in moderation as an alternative.
2. Sugar-Free Products
The term sugar-free might have you thinking that you got away with eating a healthier alternative of other foods. But trust me when I say the effect of sugar free products on your health is not good at all. The consumption of sugar-free products consists of sugar alternatives, which raises your insulin levels which has been linked to diabetes and heart diseases
3. Low Fat Products
Consuming low fat products might or might not give you the illusion that you are consuming low amounts of calories, but the Manufacturers often replace natural elements with chemicals to make these foods “low fat”. So every time you’re thinking about a low fat alternative! Just go for the real deal instead.
4. Fruit Juice
It’s no lie that juices are pumped with nutrients, but won’t fill you up the same as eating all the ingredients in your juice individually. So the next time you’re thinking of making a fruit juice, eighty six that idea out and just eat the fruit whole to ensure that you’re at least getting the nutrients you need to help keep you satisfied throughout the day and not oversnack.
5. White Bread
White bread might be something us Malaysians consume on a daily basis. But what you don’t know is that these white bread are packed with a lot of sugar in them. It has a high glycemic index and can spike your blood sugar levels up. The sugars in white bread has been linked to obesity and weight gain. Next time when you’re buying bread at home from the grocery store, consider opting for a healthier alternative such as wholemeal bread.
