Datuk Azizulhasni Awang took a silver medal home for Malaysia!
On the last day of Tokyo Olympic 2020, which is 8th August of 2021, the Malaysian Cycling Ace has won second place at the final round of the Men’s Keirin event that happened earlier this morning at Izu Velodrome in Shizuoka, Japan.
Champion, Jason Kenny from Great Britain started the game strong by staying far away ahead of his competitors at the early rounds of the game and successfully grabbed the Gold Medal from the game. Though 2nd place winner, Azizulhasni and 3rd place winner Lavreysen from Netherland has powered the greatest that they can throughout the game, Kenny has kept sprinting and maintaining his fast pace since till the end of the game that couldn’t be overtaken by his other contenders.
Even though it is not the Gold Medal that we’ve always expected, but
The fight between Azizulhasni and Lavreysen was indeed an intense one. They were so near to each other in the match but ultimately, our Dato Azizulhasni has also overtaken the world champion Harrie Lavreysen and grabbed away the shining silver medal. We are going to aim high for the next round and we believe he can do it! This is the last day of Tokyo Olympic 2020 and the country ends it with a total of 2 medals, Bronze Medal from the double shutters Aaron Chia & Soh Wooi Yik and Silver Medal from Azizulhasni.
Well done, players! We’ll see you again in 2024.
