Before we moved on from any GE14-related topics (for good), we’ve managed to take a moment to reflect on all that has happened,, so these are the positive takeaways which we can pass down to our generations to come:

We all know that Malaysia is a multi-racial country and that is what us unique from the rest of the world! GE14 has made Malaysians of different races to gather together to rally for a clean and fair election. One of the most touching Malaysian moments which took place during the election period is definitely #pulanglahmengundi.

The younger generations’ votes made one of the most significant contribution among all eligible age groups (we’re talking about those between 21-39 years of age). They are the people who hold the torch of hope for the next 30 years or so. Looking at the stats alone, it makes us understand why we should be more aware of what’s happening in our nation and make conscious choices to partake larger roles in our society.
3. We’re mastered the essence of a developed democracy

Here we are taking a significant steps towards becoming a country which practices mature democracy. In an ideal mature democracy, the rule of law protects the rights of citizens, maintains order, and limits the power of government. This election proved to us that change is possible even after decades post independence.
4. Each character have a purpose- big, small, the good, and even the not so good

It doesn’t matter who are the current government of our nation, it’s good to have different opinions and organizations who challenges the current government’s status quo. It keeps everyone on their toes and most importantly, this is to ensure that promises are delivered to serve the people. So, opposition parties or not, we always need to have a balance in everything and we need to thank those who devoted their lives to keep our nation’s interest at heart.
5. Each of us plays a pivotal role to build a nation of our desire

Economic hardship was one of the cause for this election result. To achieve greater equity, the people on the higher end of the economic pyramid have to make certain sacrifices and compromises Each of us have to do our part to strive and to restore our nation to its glory days.
