Bullet journal is said to be a flexible system designed to track the past, organize the present and plan for the future. You may be drowning in ideas and tips if you are new to bullet journaling. But no worries! Check out below bullet journal hacks that will works for you.
1. Choose your favourite book journal
Select a book journal you find aesthetically pleasing because you will definitely look forward to working on it everday. I myself like those that comes in a variety colours, with a pen loop, and with an inner pocket. You could even opt for creative journaling on your iPad as its much convenient.
2. Create a series of bullet symbols
It is rather important to form a series of unique symbols to distinguish the types of tasks in your list. For example, a square symbol next to tasks to do, an “x” next to cancelled task and etc. You can also add some colour coding so that can easily flip to certain categories at a glance.
3. Color code with washi tape
Washi tape is not only pretty but are ultra-useful too. Go with fancy rainbow washi set if you want something a little border than highlighters. Tape the edge of the page to get a prominent page marker and easier for you to spot the unique pages. Also, washi can be used to cover the mistakes made in the bullet journal too.
4. Use page mark or bookmark
With some simple folding or origami paper mark at the corner of the pages can make page stands out. Or you can even DIY your own bookmark. All you need are some paper clips and ribbons. Cut your ribbon and tie it around the end of your paperclip. As bookmarks, just clip together pages or sections. They are really convenient and practical.
5. Create a pen holder
This is so elegantly simple! Not to worry if your book journal does not have a pen loop. DIY one by simply placing an elastic band in a horizontal position, pull it over the left corner and make it into a pen holder. Cool, right?
6. Create an envelope slot
DIY envelopes in the journal just in case you want to have some extra storage for special items, eg: papers, tickets, photos, stamps, stickers, and whatever you want to use for future journaling entries. To ease up the process, you can also just tape/glue a ready-made envelope.
7. Create a post holder
Open up to any page of the journal and keep a stash handy by cross them over. Grab yourself a new post-it and jot down the extra ideas before you officially insert them in the journal.
8. Go dutch
Save the tree by applying this technique if you want to add more trackers/logos to the weekly spreads. Do not need to do the header over and over again as you can simply cut a panel out of one page to create the extra space to use for that collection. This helps to increase room and optimize the planning. Trust me, it is much easier than it looks!
