When American internet celebrity Darren Watkins Jr. arrived in the capital of Malaysia today, he was greeted by hordes of admirers.While touring various locations here, the 30.1 million-subscriber YouTuber known as IShowSpeed attracted hundreds of enthusiastic viewers. His appearances, accompanied by bodyguards and other members of his entourage, appeared to be close to total chaos based on his live feed.
Watkins, however, claimed that of his experiences thus far, Malaysia ranked highest after the Malaysian section of his travel in Southeast Asia.Watkins was enjoying some durian when he was obviously frightened by an increasingly rowdy crowd during a visit to the Jalan Alor food market.He was compelled to end his visit early due to the tumultuous atmosphere, with people pushing and crowding around him.
Later, Watkins went to the ‘Fuiyoh! It’s Uncle Roger’ restaurant in Pavilion Kuala Lumpur. When the online celebrity entered the mall’s hallways, fans flocked to meet him. The throngs were heading towards Watkins by the time he arrived, so the managers had to close the shutters to keep people out.
