A recent TikTok has netizens questioning if Universal Music has been playing the longest April’s Fools prank on all of us.
We all remember the 28th of March when Universal Music Malaysia posted this picture on their Instagram, making us all jump up and down with excitement. That is, until we saw the date of the 1st of April and realised it was an April’s Fools joke.

Billie Eilish was one of the artists featured on the Instagram post, and to our delight, it was recently announced that she would actually be holding a concert in Malaysia. To many of us, the Instagram post had either slipped our mind, or we thought it was a coincidence. But Tiktoker @ijad pointed out another coincidence that led us to believe Universal Music Malaysia might have given us an Easter egg this whole time.

In this video, the TikToker points out the date of the concert (18 August) and the gate number (18) and seat number (1A) of Billie’s ticket on the Instagram post, stating that this could not be a coincidence. The tiktok suggested that the gate number indicates the date of the concert, whilst the seat number indicates the month (1A meaning that the 1st letter of the month is A, indicating August).
This has caused speculation on various social media platforms that the Instagram post may have been foreshadowing concerts that are coming to Malaysia in the near future. Among Billie Eilish, the post featured 5 other artists. The comments section of the TikTok was filled with predictions of concert dates for the other artists, which we have summarised below:
Olivia Rodrigo – 20 March 2023
Gate 20, Seat 4C – 20 marCh
The Weeknd – 16 December 2022
Gate 16, Seat 3C – 16 deCember
Keshi – 4 September 2022
This one needed netizens to take a different approach, the Gate number was 4 and the Seat was 9B, but since there’s no month that has B as the 9th letter, people had to get a little creative. They figured that there is only one month with 9 letters in its name – September – which also happens to have a B in its name, leading them to believe the date might be the 4th (gate number) of September.
Imagine Dragons – 4 May 2023
Again, for this one, they couldn’t apply the previous trick used for Billie, Olivia and The Weeknd. But they used the same trick as with Keshi. The Gate number for this was not mentioned (although there is a 4 under class to the left side of gate number, which could have possibly been a typo and meant to be under gate number). The seat number was 3A, and May is the only month with 3 letters, one of which is A, which drew them to the conclusion of 4 May.
BTS – no date as of yet
With BTS taking a break at the moment, we are unsure as to when they will be back and continue to perform. We are all keeping a keen eye on the lookout for any further information, and keeping our fingers crossed that we’ll get to see them live in concert one day.
