Hantu Pocong reporting for duty.
There are only so many things in this world designed to prevent and deal with crime. Yeah, we have the justice system and laws set in place, but let’s not sugarcoat it – snoozefest alert.
You know what’s original? Hiring a policeman of the supernatural kind. This farmer was on to something when he came up with this ingenious way to deal with theft in his durian plantation.
Rosman Budiman is a 61-year-old farmer hailing from Johor. He is also the mastermind behind this elaborate scheme of recruiting ‘hantu’ to safeguard his durians.
Budiman, tired of delinquents stealing from his orchard, decided to craft two fake pocongs to deter the thieves from his land.
The 61-year-old explained that he had utilized cardboard and cloth to build his invincible guards.
For the sake of the ploy, Budiman even got his hands on gharuwood incense to play up the haunting atmosphere at night.
He even admitted to being scared by the scent himself occasionally when he would set out to collect his fruit ally by himself.
At the end of the day, his plan seemed to be working. Budiman states that he has lost fewer of his durians when his ghastly guards are up.
