Tokyo Street at Pavilion Kuala Lumpur returns for another year of spectacular activities, celebrating its 8th anniversary with a month of exciting arcade games, pop-up booths, shopping and F&B promos, and leading to the highly-anticipated annual Japan Expo Malaysia (JEMY)!
The creation of Tokyo Street is greatly inspired by the culturally-vibrant energy and theme of Tokyo’s buzzing shopping hub, which is also known as ‘electric town’ – Akihabara, famed for Japan’s source of entertainment like anime, manga, figurines, retro video, and card games.
From exciting arcade games, pop-up booths, and exclusive food and beverage promotions, check out these 5 lined up nostalgic events that will keep your day entertained with Japanese vibes!
1. Japanese Arcade Pop-Up
Look out for the Japanese pop-up at Level 6 as there will be plenty of claw machine and arcade game stations. This Japan-inspired station will bring you a time-travelling experience for vintage, retro nostalgia!
The Japanese Arcade Pop-up will be available from the start until the end of July.
2. Yukata Dreams
For those who loves snapping photos of their #ootd, you can also participate in ‘Yukata Dreams’ where you can rent a traditional Japanese garment – Yukata for RM10 and have your photos professionally taken with a Fuji Film camera. You will also get to bring home a printed copy as a memento!
Live up your Japanese fantasy with the Insta-worthy corners in conjunction with KLOOK at the Tokyo Street Zen Garden and Dotonburi display located at Level 6, as well as Torii Gate at Level 3. All proceeds will also go to charity.
3. Doraemon Fair And Pop-Up
Calling all Doraemon fans! The Japanese all-time-favourite robotic blue cat has invaded Kuala Lumpur district and there will be a Doraemon Fair held on Level 6 of Pavilion Kuala Lumpur with plenty of pop-up stores selling a variety of limited edition Doraemon merchandise.
This is the third Doraemon fair organised in Pavilion after its last time that is held in 2015 so don’t miss out this event as it will only be available from July 8th to July 23rd!
4. Vibe to Japanese performances by top J-pop bands!
One of the largest Japanese expo, Japanese Expo Malaysia (JEMY) will also be held at the end of July! This three-day expo will feature live performances by the largest J-pop bands and artists including AKB48, Kousuke Atari, Kiiyama Shouten, and even DJ Hello Kitty!
The Japanese Expo Malaysia will be held from July 26th – July 28th.
