Netizens are fuming over former Malaysian beauty pageant titleholder’s statements online.
The murder of unarmed American citizen George Floyd has sparked international outcry with regards to deeply rooted systemic racism. Over the week, people have taken to their social media platforms to express their outrage, signing petitions and garnering donations alike.
Miss Universe Malaysia, Samantha Katie, also took to her Instagram account of then 160k followers to let them in on what she thought of everything.
Her comments triggered a massive influx overnight of netizens calling her out for her words.
It has been just a little over 24 hours since Katie uploaded her highly controversial post, with Instagram revoking her blue tick after just 12 hours.
Katie has however gone on to amass an additional 7,000 followers on her Instagram page since the incident.
Many have also approached Katie’s existing followers on the platform to call them out for still continuing to follow the beauty queen.
